LEAD, LEAD POISONING AND HOW TO AVOID IT!
LEAD EXPOSURE
Lead enters the body in two ways, inhalation (dust, fumes) and ingestion!
Wear separate work clothes and shoes or boots when working with lead paint, solder or came.
Don't wear my work clothes home from work or when I am not working with lead.
Wash and dry work clothes separately from all other clothes.
Wash hand before eating, drinking, smoking, or handling uncontaminated articles.
Eat, drink, smoke, etc only in areas that are NOT near any potential lead contamination.
Avoid stirring up lead-containing dust with dry sweeping, use a wet cloth instead.
Wear a respirator that fits snuggly when working with lead or other solvents and metals.
Work in a well ventilated area which draws dust and fumes away from the
work area and into an approved filtration system.
